In order to use the Apollo Personality Test in a competent and responsible manner it is necessary to undergo some form of training from the options below. Using Psychometric tests without adequate training is likely to result in making incorrect assumptions and therefore incorrect decisions and as such negate the benefits of these tests. The options presented below are in order from the least time/commitment required to the most!

 

Option 1: Online Psychometric Training for Apollo Module 1

Benefits
The training is online and can be done by anybody in around one hour. So, if you need to test using Apollo as soon as next week, or even tomorrow, you can do so by just enrolling in this course and completing the end of course quiz. Undergoing this training means you don't need to opt for our consulting services when using Apollo.

Disadvantages
The training is very basic. It works on the basis that Apollo reports have already been interpreted for you by a psychometrician and management consultant and hence the training focuses on the limitations of psychometric testing and provides a framework and guidance for using the reports. Furthermore, due to the basic nature of the training, you will not get your own Apollo system - rather you will need to use our bureau service. We will provide you with text-only full interpretive reports. A bureau fee (which is higher than the regular Apollo fee) will be charged, so in essence, you get less for more cost!

Option 2: Distance Learning for Apollo with full accreditation with the Apollonean Institute

Benefits
This course is ideal for anybody who doesn't want to or can't attend face-to-face training and yet would like to be formally accredited in Apollo. We'll give you access to our online learning centre where you can download the materials you need. You then read through them at your own pace and once ready you complete an online accreditation exam. Assuming you pass you will be accredited with the Apollonean Institute and can use all Apollo reports. You will also have your own online Apollo system.

Disadvantages
This course requires a fair degree of reading and there is no tutorial support.

Option 3: Face-to-face Training for Apollo with full accreditation from the Apollonean Institute

Benefits
No need to undertake lots of reading and you get the tutorial support and guidance of our psychologist facilitators! You simply attend one of our public accreditation courses in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia or China. Alternatively, we can come to you and run the course for your team on an in-house basis anywhere in Asia or beyond. There is some pre-course work, then a single day of training, followed by a practical assessment and open book exam. This is a fast route to accreditation as everything can be done within a couple of days provided you can make the course dates.

Disadvantages
Training and accreditation is not immediate because you need to wait until the next public course or find a date when your team can attend in-house training. This may not therefore be the best option if you need to use Apollo very soon. Face-to-face training is generally more expensive than online training.

Option 4: Face-to-face Training - Psychometric Assessment at Work Course leading to British Psychological Society Level A & B Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing. (Singapore and Hong Kong)

Benefits
Not only do you get training from a doctoral level, published business psychologist based in Asia, but the training takes you beyond Apollo. You'll be trained in all aspects of psychometric testing at work. You'll be able to evaluate tests, recognise good practices from bad, you'll be qualified to choose, administer, score and interpret aptitude tests and have a firm ground in personality assessment. You'll be qualified to use Apollo and other personality tests. You'll get 2 internationally recognised qualifications from the British Psychological Society. You'll certainly be more confident when using psychometric tests and when feeding back results to decision-makers or making decisions yourself based on test results. A very wise investment for long-term organisational success.

Disadvantages
Training is longer and more costly than other methods. There is more work and assessment involved. Training does not focus on Apollo but you do complete the course with Apollo accreditation.

Note regarding hard-copy Apollo Assessment

99.9% of our Apollo clients opt for online assessment of personality! It saves time, there's no need to purchase questionnaires, there's no need to transpose candidate responses to a computer system and so on. However, if for some reason it is absolutely necessary for clients to purchase and use hard-copy Apollo Assessments, kindly note that you must be qualified in psychometric test administration to do so. The Level A course referred to above already covers this requirement. If you opt for any of the other training options above though you would need to additionally undertake our recorded or live online psychometric test administration course.
